Northwood Texas Hosts Annual Welcome Back Lunch

2013 Welcome Back Lunch

Northwood Texas faculty and staff held their annual Welcome Back Lunch August 21.  Participants enjoyed a Fiesta provided by Taco Cabana, while dining on a beautifully decorated table of Northwood spirit gear adorned with the new Knight Mascot.

The Knight to Knight Spotlight Awards were also awarded this summer. Faculty and staff were given the opportunity to anonymously recommend a fellow co-worker who went above and beyond to assist a fellow knight in the workplace.  This year recipients included Tiffani Owensby, Michael Brinkley, Dr. Terry Silva, Dr. Lynda Folts, Sabine Adams, Coach Jeremy Kennedy, Coach Bobby Garza, Sarah Lack and a very special Knight to Knight was awarded to Texas Campus President Dr. Kevin Fegan.

This year service awards went to auxiliary personnel, part-time and adjunct professors, Margaret Chokas, Sodexo; Melinda Rogers, Adjunct; Summer Smith, Sodexo; Goeffrey Grimes, Adjunt; LaPrelle Mainor, Adjunct; Vanessa Walker, Adjunct; Cynthia Sekerke, Adjunct-Ft.Worth; James Gibbons, Adjunct-Ft.Worth; Thurman Schweitzer, Adjunct- Cedar Hill and Ft.Worth;  

Full times employees included for five years of service Carla Allen, Don Stewart, and Sunny Kukreja.  Service awards given for ten years of service include Lisa Allen, Michael Anguiano and Lea Holland. Fifteen years of service include Beverly Siegler, Robert Harris and Diana Garcia. Mr. Roy Wilson was recognized for twenty years of service and for thirty five years the service award was bestowed to Ms. Patty Soper-Shaw.  Dr. Faye Lynne King, Professor Emeritus also received a service award for 35 plus years of service.   

This year three special awards were bestowed to Jack Allday, Martha Heimberg and Michael Lansing by Lisa Sherrod, Director of Outreach from Congresswoman’s Eddie Bernice Johnson’s office.
