Northwood University Names Diana Vreeland Director of Intensive English Program

MIDLAND, MI – Northwood University recently named Diana Vreeland director of the Intensive English Program. She will oversee the newly launched full-time Intensive English Program including the development of curriculum. Vreeland will also serve as liaison with Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP) and other professional organizations and groups.

Vreeland recently served as the director of the Center for English Language and Culture for International Students at Western Michigan University from 2009–2013 where she led the ESL Program. From 2006–2009, she was the director for Saginaw Valley State University’s ESL program.

Vreeland spent time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Czechoslovakia for three years where she trained English teachers at Comenius University in Bratislava and taught English to engineering students at the Technical University in Zvolen. After her Peace Corps experience, Vreeland served as an English teacher and director for City University in Slovakia. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Central Michigan University.

Vreeland and her husband, Joseph, reside in Midland.
