Northwood University Florida is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Dennett as academic dean.
Northwood's Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Kristin Stehouwer commented, "We are delighted that Susan is joining our team in this capacity. She is the key academic leader for the campus and will have responsibility for supporting our learner-centered environment through a focus on excellence in teaching and learning, curriculum development and delivery, assessment, and overall program quality." Dennett will work collaboratively with colleagues on the campus as well as across the Northwood system.
Having first joined Northwood University as an adjunct professor of Human Resource Management in August, 2009, Dennett looks forward to applying her extensive experience and strong organizational skills toward her new role.

Dennett served as the Human Resource and Training Manager for Lionel Trains, Chesterfield, Michigan where she provided leadership through organizational and cultural change. She then served as the Associate Human Resource Manager and Consultant for QVC for ten years while residing in Palm City, Florida. Dennett has consulted to the hospitality industry and also has been a successful entrepreneur who created a successful start-up in the national corporate gift arena.
Dennett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Oakland University, Rochester Hills, Michigan, a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Development/Adult Education from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, and is completing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. A resident of Palm City, Florida and former college athlete, Dennett coaches middle and high school boys and girls tennis teams in her spare time.
