Mural Painting

A series of murals is in process at the Midland Community Center based on the Alden B. Dow Way of Life Cycle. Designs are created by Cultural Arts director Cheryl A. Smith in conjunction with Northwood students.  Student Clayton Koh from Malaysia co-designed the initial mural ‘Individualism’.

Finished murals are located in the front lobby and on the leisure pool ceiling where Curt Gledhill, MPS Arts instructor joined Smith in the small window of opportunity when the pool is closed briefly each year. Next year a giant Sea turtle is slated. The additional 5 are in process.

Students may participate by contacting the Cultural Arts department at 837-4480.
