Private Donor Scholarships

The Private Donor Scholarship program is made possible by generous donations from interested individuals and organizations. Scholarships are awarded by a selection committee which is appointed by the campus provost. Both new and returning traditional students are eligible to apply. Scholarship applications are available online or through the Scholarship Office. A letter of recommendation is required. Application deadlines are May 1st for new students and February 1st for returning students. Scholarship applications are considered only if the student has a minimum GPA of 2.5 and remains enrolled full-time. New students must also be admitted for admission and have committed to the University.

Scholarships are awarded by program of study first; all remaining applicants are considered for general scholarships. Scholarship amounts are subject to change. Some scholarships may have stricter eligibility requirements and/or require additional documentation. Scholarship descriptions are available from the left menu. They are also available in the application packet. Notification of scholarship decisions are made by mail.

During the academic year, scholarship recipients are required to send a letter of thanks to the donor. Recipients are also required to participate in three volunteer activities, remain enrolled fulltime for the full academic year, and have their photograph taken for the scholarship yearbook. These responsibilities will be outlined in a letter sent to the student during fall term.  Scholarship awards are normally applied to the student’ account during the spring term, after all requirements are met.

The Northwood Idea

We focus on education for a life of contribution in the private sector. We believe that is where the productive future exists. We specialize, in that we develop and build all our curriculums around the principles of the market economy. We incorporate a series of beliefs into our curriculums. And they serve to anchor us in order that the changing parts of what we do cannot lead us astray.
