



Zane Colestock
Tennis Coach
Zane Colestock is the head coach of both the men’s and women’s tennis programs at Northwood University. His teams are consistently among the best in the nation.
Colestock will begin his 33rd season as men's coach with an overall record of 464-132 (.779) in dual matches. Colestock has coached two national players of the year and has tutored nationally ranked singles and doubles squads during his prestigious tenure. In 2002, the men's tennis team finished a school-record third in the nation falling in the national semifinals to Drury. Northwood finished fourth in the country during the 2000 season. During this period, Zane has produced several All-Americans including two in 2002 (Markus Kaempfer and Oskars Vaskis). His teams have participated in 26 national tournaments, have won 12 GLIAC championships, and 13 NAIA District titles. Under his direction, the T-Wolves have posted 32 consecutive winning campaigns, including one perfect season. In 2006, Colestock coached Teddy Mebounou to the Division II title at the ITA Small College Championships, making Mebounou the first No. 1 player in the nation in School history.
Colestock has earned the NCAA Midwest Coach of the Year award in 1997 and 1998. Also, Zane has been named the GLIAC Coach of the Year eight times, and the NAIA District Coach of the Year on 13 occasions.
On the women's side, Colestock has gone 140-36 (.795) while guiding Northwood to four of the last five GLIAC Championships. His 2003 team advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament, the highest finish in program history. In 2001, Colestock’s team won the first GLIAC title in school history. He also earned the first of his four GLIAC Coach of the Year honors on the women’s side. Colestock has also coached four GLIAC Players of the Year and four GLIAC Freshmen of the Year.
