In the fall of 2006 Northwood University inducted the inaugural class of its newly founded Athletic Hall of Fame, which was announced Dr. Timothy Nash, Provost of Northwood’s Michigan campus.
"With over 40 years of athletic history at Northwood University, we feel it is time to start honoring those who have made that history," commented Nash. "The Athletic Hall of Fame will recognize the achievements of the people who have made the greatest contributions to our university’s athletic programs."
Former student-athletes, coaches, athletic administrators, as well as long-time supporters of Northwood athletics will be eligible for induction. In addition to athletic prowess and success, positive representation of Northwood and character will be criteria for consideration.
Alumni, friends, family and Northwood supporters may nominate candidates for induction by going to the athletic website for Northwood’s Michigan campus at www.northwood.edu. The Hall of Fame site will list criteria for induction as well as a nomination form.
The Hall of Fame Board of Directors will accept nominations for subsequent fall induction until June 1. The induction class will be selected and announced in July. The inaugural induction ceremony will take place during Homecoming/Autoshow Weekend next fall.
