Aftermarket Management

Northwood University's Aftermarket Management program focuses on the various aspects of the automotive aftermarket industry including the wholesale, retail, manufacturing, performance, and motor sports channels; as well as the development of an aftermarket business during the final semester.

Northwood is the only University that specifically prepares students for this 300 billion dollar industry. The curriculum spans topics such as manufacturing, distribution and sales of automotive parts, supplies, accessories, tools, finance, and shop equipment. Increasing demand for automotive parts insures the continued growth of this industry. Northwood develops the management skills in those who want to take advantage of the industry opportunities. The program exposes students to the range of issues faced by contemporary managers.

Graduates occupy management positions in the automotive replacement parts industry including finance, advertising, sales, promotion, and inventory control. Entry level positions include district manager, marketing representative, and management trainee. Our close relationships with major manufacturers enhance your education and improves your chances for employment after graduation.

We seek input from alumni and other automotive industry experts throughout the year to make certain we are teaching the information students need to be successful. We bring our expert faculty together to discuss content and teaching practices-faculty with robust subject matter expertise. Our on-going collaborative peer review curriculum process ensures students receive a future-focused education.

Employment Opportunities

Northwood University has the unique reputation of having Automotive Marketing and Aftermarket students employed before they graduate. The employment rate for graduates of our automotive program has historically been at or near 100%. Our graduates hold high positions in automotive companies all over the world.

Northwood University International Auto Show

Northwood University students run North America’s largest, outdoor, new car auto show. The show features more than 450 new domestic and imported automobiles, aftermarket displays, and a classic car show.
