Faculty:

The student-faculty ratio is approximately 24:1. Ninety percent of Northwood’s faculty has earned advanced degrees. Professionals are hired from business and industry.

Accreditation:

Northwood University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association (800.621.7440; higherlearningcommission.org).

Affiliation:

Private, nonsectarian, residential, coeducational, not-for-profit.

Founding:

Established in 1959 by Dr. Arthur E. Turner and Dr. R. Gary Stauffer to teach practical career skills and business principles, based on the free enterprise concept.

Library:

Over 50,000 volumes. Automated circulation system. Member of OCLC (On-Line Computer Library Center) and The Valley Library Consortium.

Financial Aid

Over 70% of Northwood students receive some form of financial aid. Assistance is available through Northwood scholarships and grants, State of Michigan, and federal assistance.

Admission:

Transfer Admission:

Students may enter Northwood at any point in their college career and transfer the maximum number of credit hours applicable to their program. Course grades must be a "C" average or better to transfer. A significant number of transfer scholarships are available for students who will be enrolled for a minimum of two years and have a 2.7 GPA.
