CEDAR HILL, Texas – On February 13 and 14, Northwood University’s DECA Club (Distributive Educational Clubs of America) was invited to assist AdvoCare’s event coordinator and NU alumna, Tenetia Carpenter, with their 20th Anniversary Semi-Annual Event and President’s Party at the Centennial Building at Fair Park on Valentine's Day. AdvoCare is a premier health and wellness company offering world-class energy, weight-loss, nutrition and sports performance products, along with a rewarding business opportunity.
“We worked for two days to set up the kick-off event and were able to experience what it was like to see an event come to life. We also were able to see all the details that go into event planning and how stressful yet rewarding it can be,” said Luzely Lopez, a sophomore marketing major with an advertising concentration.
The Knights assisted with tasks such as hanging lights and general decor within the Centennial Building. The students also worked directly with the AdvoCare staff and were able to work with a woman who owned a balloon decorating company that supplied balloons for AdvoCare. The students learned from the balloon decorator how to use innovative and inexpensive techniques to decorate the Centennial Building.
The Knights were grateful to assist AdvoCare with their event and are looking forward to collaborating more with them in the future.
