MIDLAND, MI – Professionals and organizations looking to optimize employee success will have a new educational tool at their disposal this fall following the announcement of Northwood University’s new Master of Science in Organizational Leadership degree. Offered through Northwood’s Richard M. DeVos Graduate School, the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) offers participants a proven curriculum for personal and professional advancement—for themselves, their communities and their organizations.
“The program zeros-in on leadership and learning that results in positive organizational change,” explained Dr. Lisa Fairbairn, dean of Northwood’s DeVos Graduate School. “Our students will master personal and institutional leadership skills as well as collaborative problem-solving strategies and practices.”
Designed for experienced professionals, prospective MSOL students must possess a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of work experience prior to enrolling. Classes are offered online using asynchronous and synchronous technology to create a robust learning environment and courses include: Organizational Leadership, Measurement Concepts & Analysis, Organizational Transformation & Effectiveness and Technology & Innovation.
According to Dr. Kristin Stehouwer, executive vice president, chief operating officer and chief academic officer, Northwood’s MSOL program is ideal for leaders and managers who want to upgrade their leadership knowledge and skill sets while maintaining the flexibility needed to meet the demands of their work.
“Success is directly tied to one’s contribution in the workplace and the DeVos MSOL program teaches participants how to contribute at the highest level,” she stated. “Classes are taught by faculty who are both practicing leaders in their fields and exceptional educators. They understand and can speak directly to the challenges that our students face in the workplace daily. Those who graduate from the program will be far different and much better equipped than they were when they first entered.”
