CEDAR HILL, Texas –Associate Professor Michael Lansing, Hospitality Management Division Chair, received the Samuel Marotta Faculty Ethics Award during Honors Convocation, which is held the night before graduation. The honor was presented to him by Keith A. Pretty, President and CEO of Northwood University and Dr. Kevin Fegan, President, Northwood University Texas.
The purpose of the award is to recognize faculty members who, during their time at Northwood, most challenged their students’ thinking about the kind of moral issues they may face in their careers.
Mr. Bob Grubb, a Northwood alumnus, created and funded this award in honor of his stepfather, Sam Marotta. It is presented on all three Northwood campuses and at the DeVos Graduate School of Management annually.

The award includes a plaque which contains a poem and the sculpture entitled, “The Contract,” and a cash award of $2,000.
Lansing is a resident of Fort Worth. He earned his B.A. degree in Government and his MBA from Lamar University.
