CEDAR HILL, Texas - Northwood’s surging baseball team, which has won 11 straight games and now stands at 27-6 on the year, is ranked tenth nationally in the latest NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The results were announced Tuesday, March 26, 2013. The Knights were one of only five teams to receive a first place vote in the poll.
Others receiving first place votes were Lee (Tennessee), Oklahoma City University, Cal State San Marcus, and Lewis & Clark University. Northwood remains tied for first place in the Red River Athletic Conference with Bacone College. The Knights take on LSU Shreveport this weekend, then travel to Muskogee, OK to battle Bacone April 5th and 6th. Both Northwood and Bacone are 14-1 in conference.For the year the Knights have a team batting average of .327, while holding opponent hitters to just .244.
