CEDAR HILL, Texas – Travis Kemp and Ian Morehouse have been named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.
Kemp, a senior from Alberta, Canada, was the Class Valedictorian. A native of Commerce, Texas, Morehouse was also a senior.
“Both Travis and Ian have been a real credit to Northwood,” Head Coach Ben Belfield said. “They were leaders – in the classroom and on the course. “They are both going to be missed.”
The Northwood men’s golf team had a team GPA of 3.49, with eight of its nine golfers with a GPA of 3.45 or better. The team also excelled on the course, and was ranked 12th nationally in the final NAIA 2013 poll.
