Karla Spaeth Named Facilities and Events Director at Northwood University

MIDLAND, MI – Northwood University has named Karla Spaeth as the facilities and events director for the Michigan Campus. Along with her new position, Spaeth will continue her duties as chair of the Hospitality Management department for the remainder of the academic year; thereafter she will serve as an adjunct professor for the department.

Her responsibilities as facilities and events director will include the management and operation of the NADA Hotel and banquet services, scheduling of campus events, management of the Hach Student Life Center, athletic game day operations, summer camp programming, the rental of campus facilities, and external event sales and planning. Spaeth’s new position will also include serving on the Michigan Leadership Council.

Spaeth received both her M.B.A. and B.B.A degrees from Northwood University. She was recognized with the Michigan Campus Compact Faculty/Staff Community Service-Learning Award in 2009 and in 2010 was a recipient of Northwood University’s Innovation Award. Spaeth is an experienced hospitality professional, has been involved with higher education for over nine years and has worked in all phases of the hospitality industry.
