CEDAR HILL, Texas - Blood is a very powerful entity. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. is in need of blood and more than 44,000 blood donations are needed every day.

Each semester Kathy Bowles, RN for Northwood University, hosts a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. Aaron Chavez, senior, entertainment & sport promotion management major, stated, “Saving lives is a wonderful thing and I am happy to help anyway that I can.”

The Knights were so eager to donate blood that the line extended outside of the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. Some students donated blood to support the community and others had personal experiences that fueled their desire to contribute. “Donating blood means a lot to me. My aunt receives blood transfusions and a dear friend of my family passed away due to leukemia,” stated Rachael Knight, a senior management major.

Donating blood is simple, easy, and saves lives. The Knights would like to thank Nurse Kathy Bowles and the American Red Cross for giving them the opportunity to support their community.
