Northwood University Hosts Conference with City of Cedar Hill and the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce

August 16, 2013

CEDAR HILL, Texas - This month Cedar Hill business leaders and community leaders learned how to prepare for an emergency situation. Northwood University’s Texas campus sponsored the Active Shooter Conference organized by the City of Cedar Hill and the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce.

“The active shooter video was enlightening and informative.  Anytime you have a visual of a scenario that can change the outcome of a situation, is always helpful. “Run, Hide, Fight is what I will remember from this video,” shared Karen Hinds, Student services Administrative Assistant.

During the conference Cpl. Juan Herrera explained to the participants how the police department performs safety checks before active shooter drills.  After the drills the group was debriefed and a security assessment was completed.

“I believe that the active shooter conference was very beneficial to the campus. I would like to thank the Cedar Hill Police Department and the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce for hosting the event on the Northwood University campus,” said Dean Michael Anguiano
