CEDAR HILL, TX – Northwood University is proud to announce the new 2012-13 Student Government Association Officers.  “I am looking forward to next year and to working with the new SGA class,” said Abby Babbitt, Director of Leadership and Character Development.

"I am very excited to not only be a part of Northwood's Student Government Association, but also to lead an exceptional group of individuals who share my goal of improving the experience of our students here at Northwood University," said New 2012-13 SGA President, Francisco Chairez.

The new 2012-13 Student Government Association Officers team consists of Francisco Chairez, President; Lisa Nguyen, Vice President; Joshua Reyes, Secretary; Luzely Lopez, Treasurer; Natasha Norman, Public Relations Chair; Brandon Mason, Events Chair; Victoria Chandler, Commuter Senator; Wally Trejo, Junior Senator and  Sarah Martinez, Sophomore Senator.

“My little pearl of wisdom to the new SGA officer team is to remember to set a goal and stay focused. It's really easy to get discouraged.  I know that they will make a great impact on our campus. I am excited to see what they accomplish and I am proud of each of them. It definitely is bittersweet to be leaving SGA but I know that I left the organization in very capable hands,“ said 2011-12 SGA President and graduating senior Christian Noble.

The Student Government Association is composed of students who are interested in developing educational, social and recreational programming for the student body as well as representing the interests of the students to the administration of the University. It is an opportunity to become involved in activities, recruit members for your clubs and organizations, and share information with students. Officers are elected by the Student Body each spring to govern the following school year.
