CEDAR HILL, Texas–Northwood Women’s Soccer headed east to Jackson, Mississippi this past weekend, September 6-8, to play William Carey University and Belhaven University. The final of the game Thursday against William Carey resulted in a loss with a 1-4 final.
The Lady Knights rested and refocused grabbed a ‘W’ against Belhaven University on Saturday with a final score 2-1. The Belhaven Blazers were up 1-0 at the end of the half. The Lady Knights went out strong in the second half and spent most of the time on the offensive side of the field. Shenelle Warrick took a kick 25 yards out that shot into the top right corner of the net to even the score to 1-1. Northwood continued to put pressure on the blazers and in the final minute the Lady Knights got the ball up field.Lady Knight, Natalie Carter, broke away from the defense and shot the ball past the Blazer’s goalie to score the winning goal.
The team feels strong and prepared to play their first conference game against Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Thursday, September 20.
