Northwood University Florida to Host State Attorney Debate
Candidates Dina Keever and Robert Gershman will share their experience, vision.

Northwood University Florida will host a formal, public debate between state attorney candidates on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 3:30pm – 5:00pm at its Turner Education Center Auditorium. Please call 561-478-5532 or e-mail email@example.com to confirm your attendance.
Held in conjunction with Seaview Radio, the event is designed to educate the public regarding the experience and vision of the candidates as well as the efficiency of the office and its future.
The event is open to the public, and Northwood University Florida looks forward to hosting interested community members as well as faculty, staff, students and supporters. Relevant questions will be posed to each candidate based on election issues, the qualifications of the candidates, and/or their role of the office.
The three candidates running for State Attorney include Dave Aronberg, Robert Gershman and Dina Keever. Below are excerpts from each candidate's biography.
Dina Keever is a former federal prosecutor and a tireless advocate for criminal justice and ethics in government. Having prosecuted over 250 federal cases including large-scale drug organizations, gangs and cartels, firearm offenses, bank robberies, economic frauds and public corruption in two of the largest United States Attorney Offices in the country, she has extensive courtroom and trial experience and has received awards from the Drug Enforcement Administration and United States Customs Service for her significant courtroom contributions to law enforcement efforts. An honors graduate of the Florida State University College of Law, she was Editor-In-Chief of the Law Review. During law school she was a Legal Intern at the Leon County State Attorney's Office where she prosecuted numerous cases in state court. After law school she clerked for the Honorable Peter T. Fay in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Miami. A recent counsel with the law firm of Lewis Tein, P.L., she took a leave of absence to concentrate full-time on her campaign for Palm Beach County State Attorney. If elected, she will be the first female to serve as State Attorney in Palm Beach County. Keever lives in Palm Beach Gardens with her husband, Dr. Mark Agrama, and their two sons, ages 10 and 12. Robert Gershman has dedicated his career to upholding the constitution and fighting for justice. In 1991 he spent his final law school semester working in the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office Internship Program, and was hired as a full-time prosecutor based on his performance. While working as a Palm Beach County Assistant State Attorney, Gershman earned a reputation as being a tough, ethical, and fair prosecutor. After leaving the State Attorney's Office, he entered private practice, specializing in criminal defense litigation, trying many significant cases throughout Florida, in State and Federal Court, at both the trial and appellate levels. Gershman is an AV rated attorney; the highest rating an attorney can receive for professional and ethics and qualified lead trial counsel in death penalty murder cases. Gershman spent his 21 year career in the Palm Beach County justice system. Dave Aronberg *Note: Mr. Aronberg will not participate in the debate due to prior commitments. Dave Aronberg has helped to write Florida's criminal laws as a State Senator, and has enforced them as a special prosecutor and assistant attorney general. He has worked for years in the trenches with local law enforcement, which is why every major law enforcement organization has endorsed his campaign. In 1999 he became a Florida Assistant Attorney General for economic crimes. During his eight-year term as a state senator, he helped to write our state laws against gangs, prescription drug abuse, pill mills, identity theft and sex offenders. His work on behalf consumers was recognized by local media who called him the "strongest consumer advocate" in the Florida legislature. Additionally, he helped to craft a $67+ billion budget as a member of the Justice Appropriations Committee, and helped to create the funding formula for our entire court system through the Article V revisions committee. As a special assistant to the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department he worked to fight terrorist money laundering. Most recently, he was the special prosecutor who led Attorney General Bondi's anti-pill mill initiative.
