CEDAR HILL, Texas – Taylor Reyes, a finance major and member of Northwood men’s cross country and track team, has been very busy this summer.   This summer Reyes was the track and field coach for the Dallas Elite coaching head jumps which include triple jump, long jump, high jump and pole vault.

This summer Coach Reyes had four long jumpers qualify for the Track & Field Junior Olympics in Houston.  “The AAU Junior Olympic Games are the pinnacle competition held annually by the U.S. Amateur Athletic Union,” said Coach Reyes. “All athletes are under the age of 18. Athletes must advance through two previous rounds in order to qualify for the Track & Field Junior Olympics.”

Coach Reyes shared that, “To see one of my athletes develop and achieve his goals is the most rewarding thing about coaching.”

Reyes is in his junior year at Northwood University and also remains busy during the school year by participating in men’s cross country and track.  He is also a Resident Assistant and a Student Ambassador.

Taylor Reyes is from Fredericksburg, TX and is a graduate of Fredericksburg High School.
