Dr. Dennis Bechtol is Promoted to Professor
As a Northwood Florida Assessment Mentor he helped develop a rubric and analysis process.

Northwood University is pleased to announce that Dr. Dennis Bechtol Department Chair of Entertainment, Sport and Promotion Management (ESPM) has been promoted to Professor.
Bechtol's recent contributions include collaborating with Elite Coaching Consultants to create the NU Community Outreach Partnership. The partnership provides Youth Sport Coach Education Workshops to key Palm Beach County sport executives. As a NU Florida Assessment Mentor, he also helped develop an assessment rubric and analysis process.
Bechtol joined Northwood University as a professor and Department Chair in 2001. He came to Northwood University from The University of Texas at Austin where he held full-time faculty status teaching graduate courses in sport management, advising interns, and conducting sport business research. Prior to the University of Texas Dr. Bechtol taught graduate school at The University of Maryland College Park, and George Mason University.
Bechtol not only has experience in higher education, but in all aspects of the sport and entertainment industry. He has held positions in the field of recreation management, public high school teaching and coaching, sales and marketing in the sporting goods industry, college athletic sponsorship sales and marketing, professional football administration, and the ESPN Sport Network. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in education from Florida State University, a Masters of Arts degree (MA) in education and administration from the University of South Florida, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in sport management from the University of New Mexico.
