Ft. Worth Begins School Year with Convocation for Students
Classes Commence at Fort Worth Program Center

CEDAR HILL, Texas- Classes are in full swing again at the Northwood Fort Worth Program Center after opening convocation this week. Convocation is the first step in a student's academic journey at Northwood University; it is the official welcome for all students. The 2012 University Convocation ceremony was held at the Fort Worth Program Center, Tuesday Evening.
Brian Rolfes, Program Center Manager began by explaining to the students what it means to be a Northwood Student. He explained the Northwood core values as well as the mission statement and presented each student with a bookmark listing both.
President of Northwood University Texas, Dr. Kevin Fegan conveyed to the students that “your minimum expectation upon graduation is a quality degree” he went on to explain that it is your overall experience that enhances your education. He encouraged each of them to “Value the education, but treasure the experience”
Christi Anguiano, Associate Director of the DeVos Graduate School of Management encouraged the students to continue their education after receiving their degree by enrolling in the DeVos Graduate School of Management. Anguiano explained The DeVos curriculum focuses on integration over specialization. Rather than concentrations or majors, DeVos offers a focused management program. Students study management by practicing management. Through the team cohort learning model, students become a standout thinker and problem solver in their professional and personal endeavors.
Natasha Elder, Director of Alumni Relations also encouraged the students to stay involved after graduation and explained the many benefits of becoming a Northwood Alumni Member.
The Fort Worth Program Center has been in operation for over 26 years facilitating both military and civilian students who want to earn an associate of arts or bachelor of business administration degree. The student base is comprised of retired, reserve and active duty military service members, corporate employees, federal government employees and dependents of the armed forces. Northwood also operates program centers on military bases in New Orleans, Louisiana and Selfridge, Michigan.
