Alcohol Awareness Week 2012 at Northwood University

Northwood University, the Midland Police department and the Legacy Center for Community Success will be hosting Alcohol Awareness Week October 22-25.

MIDLAND, MI – Northwood University, the Midland Police department and the Legacy Center for Community Success will be hosting Alcohol Awareness Week October 22-25 on Northwood University’s campus located at 4000 Whiting Drive.

On Monday, October 22, there will be a DUI Experience from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Union. Participants will be entered into a drawing for Northwood prizes and gift cards. Later in the evening there will be a Monday Night Football Root Beer Keg Party in the Student Union at 9 p.m.

There will be a free health and wellness luncheon on Tuesday, October 23, at 12 p.m. (noon) featuring representatives from 1016, reservations requested. The luncheon will be hosted in the Student Leadership Center in the Student Union. Miss Michigan, Angela Venditti, will make a special appearance and speak to the students in the Bennett Sports Center at 8 p.m. Following Miss Michigan at 9 p.m., Delta Zeta sorority will host a lantern release for breast cancer awareness.

A root beer pong tournament will be held on Wednesday, October 24, in the Hach Student Life Center from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

Wrapping up the week on Thursday, October 25, is Woody’s Wild Ride from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with free food provided. The Entertainment, Sport & Promotion Management department is hosting Midnight Madness from 8 p.m.-10 p.m. to kick off the upcoming men’s and women’s basketball season. These events are sponsored by the Midland Police department and Midland Area Partnership for Drug-Free Youth.
