Advisor and Learning Specialist Help Students Jump-Start Educational Goals

The recent appointments further enhance learning opportunities.

Northwood University Florida's recent appointments of Aylim de Chazal as Director of Academic Advising and International Advisor and Elise Harding as Learning Specialist will further assist students with their educational goals.

Prior to joining Northwood, de Chazal applied her substantial advising and study abroad knowledge toward her positions as Assistant Dean for the School of Business and Economics at Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile, from November, 2010 to April, 2012, and Senior Academic Advisor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2006 - 2010. Additionally, she has taught Spanish and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for various community colleges, institutes, and universities. Born and raised in Cuba, de Chazal enjoys sharing her expertise and love of culture with students from near and far.

As a Learning Specialist at Florida's Learning Resource Center, Harding will apply special focus toward the development of motivation, time management, and test-taking skills as well as providing accommodations for students with disabilities. Having achieved her Specialist of Education Leadership and Masters of Education degrees at Florida Atlantic University, she will also utilize extensive knowledge gained as a Developmental Education Department instructor at a local state college.
