Auto Show of the Palm Beaches to Feature Ford's First Plug-In Electric Hybrid

The event will be held at Northwood University Florida March 1st - 3rd.

Northwood University Florida's Auto Show of the Palm Beaches will feature Ford's first plug-in electric hybrid, the C-MAX Energi.

Equipped with a lithium ion battery pack that allows it to operate in pure electric mode for up to 21 miles, it has an EPA rating of 100 miles per gallon equivalent for combined city and highway driving versus 95 MPGe for the Prius Plug-In.

And thanks to Ford engineers Ken Frederick and Matt Smith the innovation is equipped with a written a set of algorithms called EV+ that tap its GPS to learn more about its driver's habits. This cutting edge technology enables it to modify battery usage so the vehicle stays in electric mode as long as possible. Qualifying for a $3,750 federal tax credit, the C-Max Energi has an overall range of 620 miles and begins at $32,950 and as a standard hybrid at $25,200.

The Auto Show of the Palm Beaches will be held at Northwood University Florida Friday, March 1 - Sunday, March 3, 2013. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 5:30pm on February 28th, 2013. The Auto Show Student Executive Board works with more than 150 students to create a show which attracts more than more 20,000 visitors.
