Northwood University's Hotel, Restaurant & Resort Management Students Begin Year with Impactful Events

Over 300 local high school students recently joined Northwood University coeds to attend Northwood's "Diversity is the Spice of Life" themed 7th Annual International Festival. They were treated to native sites, smells, culture and cuisine from countries including Australia, Israel, Spain, Sweden, Japan and China.
"It's these hands-on experiences which often lead to employment invitations as students network with leaders in the hospitality industry. The application of knowledge learned in the classroom, combined with the introduction of valuable business contacts provides the perfect combination for business success," said Dr. Janice Scarinci Hotel, Restaurant & Resort Management Department Chair. "Thanks to the admissions and academic departments as well as Sodexho for all of their hard work and support," she added.
The International Festival follows the group's recent participation in other events including the Palm Beach County Hotel & Restaurant Lodging Associations Annual Trade Show and Luncheon, the National Croquet Center Silent Auction, and the Fourth Annual Student Tourism and Hospitality Conference.
