Remy Power Products Announces Major Gift
To University of the Aftermarket
$10,000 Grant Supports Expanded Access to Industry Training
Through New University of the Aftermarket 'On-Demand' Feature
Midland, MI – Remy Power Products, a leading global supplier of 100-percent new and remanufactured starters and alternators for the automotive, heavy duty, high performance and industrial markets, has announced a $10,000 grant that will help significantly increase access to industry education through the University of the Aftermarket.
The generous gift, announced by Jay Sanchez, president of Remy Power Products, will support the expansion of programming available through the new University of the Aftermarket "On-Demand" feature, which enables users to access classes, presentations and other content via Web-based streaming video. The University of the Aftermarket "On-Demand" is available on a 24/7 basis at www.universityoftheaftermarket.com.
"This gift is a sign of our commitment to the automotive aftermarket. It is our investment to help educate the next generation of leaders for our industry. Many of our employees, customers and future customers are seeking relevant, timely and highly accessible business education. Remy Power Products is very proud to help support their continued success through this important new aftermarket-specific educational channel," Sanchez said.
Launched October 6, the University of the Aftermarket "On-Demand" feature offers a variety of short-format educational workshops, courses, industry presentations and other valuable content. Each of these sessions is accredited for Continuing Education Units that can be applied toward the participant's Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) certificate. The price each session is $99 or less.
"Jay Sanchez approached us immediately following our announcement of the 'On-Demand' concept in 2008 and told us that Remy wanted to help make it a reality," said Brian Cruickshank, AAP, director of the University of the Aftermarket. "We are very appreciative of Remy's leadership in supporting what we believe will become one of our most successful means of delivering valuable programming."
Seven product data-related courses are already available through the "On-Demand" feature, and several additional sessions are currently in production. Courses will be offered in a variety of educational tracks, including Financial Management, Distribution Operations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing & Brand Management, and Organizational Leadership.
