Dow was the architect and groundbreaking took place in 1968 with Dr. Strosacker's nephew James B. Arnold, his wife Martha, and Strosacker's niece Ethel Thrune and her husband, Richard, among those in attendance. The family and many members of the community were on hand again in 1969 when Dr. Willis Tate, president of Southern Methodist University, keynoted the dedication ceremonies for the newly completed building, the centerpiece for the all-Dow designed Michigan Campus.
