Northwood University will participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program for veterans.
MIDLAND, MI – Northwood University will participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program for veterans. This program enables military veterans to attend Northwood University for free if they qualify. The veterans are funded by the government and the money is given directly to the school for tuition; books and living expenses are paid directly to the students. The Yellow Ribbon Program allows veterans and their families the opportunity to achieve higher education with financial assistance.
The program is open to veterans who served at least 36 months of active duty following September 10, 2001. It also extends to veterans who were honorably discharged for a service-connected disability and who served 30 continuous days after September 10, 2001.
The Yellow Ribbon Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. By meeting the criteria, the federal government matches the amount of financial aid pledged by participating colleges and universities.
