MIDLAND, MI – Northwood University invites students, alumni, incoming freshman and the community to attend "Welcome Weekend" presented by the Entertainment, Sport & Promotion Management program (ESPM). Several events will be taking place on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12. All activities (except the Golf Scramble) will occur on Northwood's campus located at 4000 Whiting Drive in Midland. This is a great opportunity to take part in Northwood's 50th Anniversary and ESPM's 10th Anniversary, as well as welcome new and returning students back to campus for the upcoming school year.

The festivities kick off on Friday, September 11, with the 2nd Annual ESPM Golf Scramble. The scramble will take place at Sandy Ridge Golf Course with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. At 6:00 p.m. the fun continues on campus as Mark Nizer brings comic juggling to the Griswold Lecture Hall.

On Saturday, September 12, the excitement begins at 10:00 a.m. with tailgating prior to Timberwolves football vs. Hillsdale College at Hantz Stadium at 12:00 p.m. After the game, the fun continues as the festival kicks off right outside the stadium. A rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, booths that will feature fun, thrilling games for all ages, and several exciting inflatables will take over the grounds to add to the excitement. The doors to the Hach Student Life Center will open at 5:00 p.m. for "Rock the Wood" as several local bands take the stage to entertain from 6:00-10:00 p.m. and wrap up an exciting day of festivities.

For more information on events call Gala Bank, chair of the ESPM program, at 837-4485 or advisor Mike Wynn at 837-4257.
