MIDLAND, MI – Northwood students Malin Linderkrantz, Nina Hsglund and Céline Weckerlé, third-year students of Hotel Institute Montreux, a partner school of Northwood University, placed in first position, ahead of degree and diploma students from six other hotel schools in the Bourse d'Evian 2009.

Hotel Institute Montreux placed first, Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne placed second, followed in third place by Ecole Hôtelière de Genève.

The Bourse d'Evian was created by the Société des Eaux minérales d'Evian to encourage students of hotel schools to develop their creativity by presenting a standard or innovating project related to catering and/or the hotel business.

Seven schools presented projects relating to the hotel business. The projects were concerned with a variety of topics including the conception or commercialization of an innovative idea or the creation of a standard or innovative business (restaurant, hotel, service companies, etc.).

The Société des Eaux minérales d'Evian Jury (made up of industry professionals) judged the quality of the idea based on its originality and feasibility. Participating schools included Hotel Institute Montreux, Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Ecole Hôtelière de Genève, Ecole Hôtelière de Glion, IMI Luzern, Cesar Ritz Brig, Les Roches & Cesar Ritz Bouveret.
