Switzerland - Hotel Institute Montreux

Program Overview

In a vision to marry the strength of Swiss hospitality education with the American business degree, Northwood University (NU) and Hotel Institute Montreux (HIM) signed an agreement in late 2001 to offer the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at the campus in Switzerland.

HIM is a member of the Swiss Education Group (SEG).  Since the establishment of its first school in 1985, SEG has grown to become Switzerland's largest English speaking hotel management education provider.  SEG Hotel Schools enjoy strong links with many of the world’s leading hotel and hospitality companies who use the SEG on campus recruitment events to hire future talent.

HIM has a long tradition as one of Switzerland’s finest Hotel Management Schools.  The programs at HIM are designed to develop hospitality and management skills in order to prepare graduates for high-end management positions.

The HIM BBA program is an accelerated residential program completed over three years with a total of 128 semester credits. Students complete a higher diploma in Hotel Management and then apply to continue on to Northwood University's BBA program. On completion of this final semester, students receive NU’s BBA degree with a major in Hospitality Management.

Students have the option to either earn the entire degree in Switzerland, or complete the diploma at HIM, and then transfer to one of NU's campuses in the U.S.

HIM welcomes the transfer of students from other schools into the final semester of the program.  For further details on admissions please contact ac_admissions@him.ch

The BBA program at HIM has two intakes each year (September and February).  More details of the academic calendar and of the fees can be found at http://www.him.ch/en/admissions/dates-deadlines
