Financial Information

Certification of Funds

You are required to certify that you will have adequate financial support for your program of study at The Richard DeVos Graduate School of Management. You must certify a minimum of $40,000.00 (U.S.) for entry into the Full-time MBA program as a single student. This sum does not include your travel expenses to and from Northwood University and major purchases you decide to make (e.g., car, appliances, furniture). Your application will not be processed and the U.S. Immigration Form I-20 needed to obtain a student visa will not be issued to you until you have completed this form according to our instructions and returned it with an original letter from your bank certifying that the required amount is on deposit.

Married Students Bringing Spouses and/or Children

If you are married and plan to bring your spouse and/or children, a proportionately larger amount must be certified. There is no on-campus housing for married students or students with children.

Employment of Foreign Students

Many foreign students believe they can pay for their education in the United States by working. This is NOT possible. The Immigration and Naturalization Service has outlined strict policies in regard to foreign student employment. Foreign students cannot work off-campus without legal authorization and cannot work more than 20 hours per week during periods of enrollment. On-campus employment is limited; therefore, you should not look to employment as a means of support while in the program.

U.S. Consular/Immigration Documentation

You must present documentation showing your means of support to the U.S. Consular Official when making application for your student visa and to the U.S. Immigration Officer at the port of entry into the United States. We suggest that you make certified copies of this form and all other supporting documents for presentation to these officials. You must forward the original bank certification and this form to:
