2012-2013 Private Donor Scholarship

Northwood University awards numerous Private Donor Scholarships to traditional undergraduate students within our multi-campus system. These awards are based on requirements specified by the donors. Correct use of this form allows you to be considered for any Private Donor Scholarships providing you meet the donor's criteria and the following institutional eligibility requirements:

Have been admitted and committed (tuition deposit paid) by application deadline
Submit completed Private Donor Scholarship Application
Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at time of application review
Enrolled full-time for the entire 2012-2013 academic year
Students who have not completed a 2012-2013 FAFSA will not be given any consideration for any need based scholarships

Scholarships are awarded by program of study or curriculum. All applications are considered for the general scholarships. Scholarship amounts are subject to change and are not automatically renewable. Notification of scholarship decisions will be made by mail. Please contact the Financial Aid Office on the campus nearest you if you have any questions.

GENERAL Bob Saks Motor Mall Endowed Scholarship - Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Armenian student enrolled at Northwood University MICHIGAN campus. Awards for scholarship will be based on financial need and academic merit. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have obtained minimum grade point average of 2.5 cumulative.

AUTOMOTIVE AFTERMARKET CARQUEST/Samuel M. Rogers Scholarship - Multiple scholarships to be awarded. Scholarship(s) will be awarded to students who are sons or daughters of full time employees of a General Parts, Inc. CARQUEST Distribution Center or CARQUEST Auto Parts Store currently served by General Parts Inc., CARQUEST Distribution Center. If qualified recipients cannot be found among such employees’ children, sons or daughters of full time employees of any other CARQUEST Distribution Center or CARQUEST Auto Parts store currently served by any other CARQUEST Distribution Center or any son or daughter of any full time, CARQUEST branded product, dedicated factory sales person or any other student as NU may direct in Aftermarket program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have obtained a minimum GPA of 2.5 cumulative. Awards will be based on financial need and academic merit.
H.D. America Memorial Scholarship, Leon Settles Memorial Scholarship, Sloan Transportation Products Annual Scholarship - Scholarship to be awarded to a student studying Automotive Aftermarket/Management at any one of the three Northwood University campuses (FLORIDA, MICHIGAN or TEXAS). Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled in the Heavy Duty Management Program 105 or the Heavy Duty Vehicle Technology Program 106 and demonstrate career interest.
Jeanne S. Peck Memorial Scholarship - Scholarship award will be based upon demonstrated financial need. Eligible candidates include U.S. citizens who are enrolled in the Automotive Aftermarket program of study at Northwood’s MICHIGAN or TEXAS Campus and meet all standard admissions requirements have a minimum grade point average of 2.5. Federal Mogul Corporation employees and/or dependents of Federal/Mogul employees will be given first consideration.
Michael R. Sandler Endowed Scholarship - Scholarship to be awarded to a student enrolled in the Automotive Aftermarket/Management program of study on the MICHIGAN campus of Northwood University. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have career interest in the areas of distribution, retailing and publishing and have obtained a minimum grade point average of 2.5 cumulative.
David Wasserman Memorial Scholarship - Scholarships will be awarded to a Junior or Senior enrolled on the MICHIGAN or TEXAS campus. Financial support is provided to children of active Apex employees‚ children of Apex customers and children of employees of Apex customers who are Automotive Aftermarket students extra letter stating relationship must accompany application. Applicants must be U.S. citizens eligible applicants must be enrolled in the Automotive Aftermarket program and of Junior or Senior status. Enrolled on MICHIGAN or TEXAS campus of Northwood University.
Rudy Aschenbrener Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship award will be based on demonstrated financial need and demonstrated career interest in the Automotive Aftermarket industry. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, enrolled in the Automotive Aftermarket program of study at the Michigan campus of Northwood University. The student must declare interest to pursue a career in the collision repair or paint and body equipment industries upon graduation. Minimum grade point average of 2.0.

Conditions

I understand and agree that if selected as a scholarship recipient, I will fulfill the following requirements within specified deadlines, which will be provided in my scholarship offer letter:

Write a letter of thanks and respond to any communication requested by the donor
Volunteer in three campus or community sponsored activities, which are documented on my EXCEL transcript
Remain enrolled full-time for the full academic year
Attend the Private Donor Scholarship Luncheon (if applicable)
Have a photo taken for the annual Private Donor Scholarship Yearbook
Complete the Biographical Sheet

I understand that if I fail to meet any of the six listed requirements above my scholarship will be revoked.

I understand that scholarships are not automatically renewable and the amounts are subject to change.

I understand that following the Private Donor Scholarship application deadline, a committee will review the applications and make scholarship awards based on donor criteria. The initial awarding process is on-going during the spring term. Applications received by the deadline will be considered during the initial awarding process. Late applications will be considered if additional funding becomes available. Both the application and any required documents must be received before the application will be reviewed.
