Northwood University awards numerous Private Donor Scholarships to traditional undergraduate students within our multi-campus system. These awards are based on requirements specified by the donors. Correct use of this form allows you to be considered for any Private Donor Scholarships providing you meet the donor's criteria and the following institutional eligibility requirements:

  1. Have been admitted and committed (tuition deposit paid) by application deadline
  2. Submit completed Private Donor Scholarship Application
  3. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at time of application review
  4. Enrolled full-time for the entire 2012-2013 academic year
  5. Students who have not completed a 2012-2013 FAFSA will not be given any consideration for any need based scholarships

Scholarships are awarded by program of study or curriculum. All applications are considered for the general scholarships. Scholarship amounts are subject to change and are not automatically renewable. Notification of scholarship decisions will be made by mail. Please contact the Financial Aid Office on the campus nearest you if you have any questions.

If you wish to be considered for these scholarships, please request a letter of recommendation to be sent to your campus' Financial Aid Office prior to the deadline date. Conditions

I understand and agree that if selected as a scholarship recipient, I will fulfill the following requirements within specified deadlines, which will be provided in my scholarship offer letter:

  1. Write a letter of thanks and respond to any communication requested by the donor
  2. Volunteer in three campus or community sponsored activities, which are documented on my EXCEL transcript
  3. Remain enrolled full-time for the full academic year
  4. Attend the Private Donor Scholarship Luncheon (if applicable)
  5. Have a photo taken for the annual Private Donor Scholarship Yearbook
  6. Complete the Biographical Sheet

I understand that if I fail to meet any of the six listed requirements above my scholarship will be revoked.

I understand that scholarships are not automatically renewable and the amounts are subject to change.

I understand that following the Private Donor Scholarship application deadline, a committee will review the applications and make scholarship awards based on donor criteria. The initial awarding process is on-going during the spring term. Applications received by the deadline will be considered during the initial awarding process. Late applications will be considered if additional funding becomes available. Both the application and any required documents must be received before the application will be reviewed.
