ew people, learn about other cultures, and spend more time interacting with the staff and faculty. Living close means you can easily attend athletic functions, have greater access to tools and resources, and stay connected to the campus activities.
Why Live On Campus?
Residence life and housing research suggests students:
- Who live in the residence halls have a higher grade point average.
- Access and contact faculty more often.
- Utilize university resources more often as they are closer to the facilities.
- Who live on campus have up to a 20% better chance of graduating with a degree.

- Develop hands on leadership skills through the many opportunities provided in the residence halls.

- Have healthy, nutritious meals without the headaches of having to purchase, prepare, and clean-up.
Facilities
The apartments have a living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two study rooms. Normal occupancy is considered to be two students per room and four students per apartment while space is available. Should there not be enough space for everyone to have a double room, doubles will be assigned through a priority system based upon the dates the commitment deposits are received. Housing Forms
In order to apply for housing for the 2011-2012 academic year, a student must complete the following steps:
- Log on to my.northwood.edu portal with your assigned username and password
- Click on WebAdvisor tab (upper right hand corner)
- Select Prospective Students folder
- Select Online Housing Preferences located beneath Admissions Information
- Complete Housing Application by following the questions asked, truthfully
- Be sure to click the submit button to accept your Housing Contract
If a student wishes to reside off campus, they must submit a copy of the housing waiver form. *Please note that a student must meet at least one of the conditions on the form in order to be considered eligible.

Dining Services
The Dining Hall better known as "The Marketplace" is located in Dalby Commons. The University offers three meal plans. The plans include:
- 19 meals per week plus $65 in flex dollars
- 225 meals per semester plus $105 in flex dollars
- 180 meals per semester plus $160 in flex dollars
Flex dollars are money associated with meal plans that may be used to purchase any items in the Marketplace.

The student's Northwood I.D. serves as their meal card, and must be swiped by a member of the dining services staff each time the student comes to the dining hall for a meal.
