Leadership Development

Students are encouraged to develop leadership skills through workshops, conferences, and by serving in a campus leadership position. To receive EXCEL credit or hours towards an EXCEL credit, approved activities and organizations must meet the following criteria:

  1. Students must hold a recognized position of leadership in a recognized and approved organization, or be serving in some other recognized campus leadership position.
  2. Leaders must participate in at least 95% of the organization or program activities.
  3. Students must hold the leadership position for the duration of the expected term of service, typically, one academic year.
  4. EXCEL credit is awarded at the end of the academic year.
  5. Approved activities in this category include designated leadership skill development workshops, conferences, and seminars.

All individuals recognized as leaders of campus clubs and organizations will receive one EXCEL (EL8) credit in the Leadership Development category for the academic year at the end of the year.
