Benefits & Services

Alumni Relations is Proud to Serve Alumni and the University in the Following Six Ways:

Admissions

As alumni, you are a natural liaison with prospective students because you have lived the Northwood experience. Alumni can assist in the recruiting of new students by attending college night programs, visiting local high schools and providing job shadowing, mentoring and internship opportunities. To get involved, contact Alumni Relations at 800.622.1007 or e-mail alumni@northwood.edu.

Development

Alumni donors to Northwood University make a tremendous difference in the student life. Sometimes the difference is highly visible, such as a new building, renovated facility or carillon tower. Other times, the impact is less visible but equally important; such as, the presence of a student who could not afford tuition without a scholarship, a distinguished speaker visiting campus, or an interactive class held simultaneously on each campus. We invite you to explore the various areas where you can make a critical difference. For more information on giving to the University, visit our Advancement pages.

Alumni Events

From networking with potential clients or vendors to meeting with old friends, events are the backbone of alumni activity. Each chapter’s events are unique and reflect the interests of the alumni involved from that geographic location. For a list of events, visit our Alumni Events/Calendar page.

Career Services

The relationship between alumni and Career Services is lifelong and symbiotic. Northwood supports alumni with both professional and personal development services. Whether you are looking for exceptional talent for your company or looking for a new job, Career Services can be a source for assistance. Alumni Relations can help you connect with other alumni in your geographic location or your chosen field. The university’s Career Assistance Center offers an E-Recruiting site, Career Search information, Career Fairs and resume building or critiquing. For more information on career assistance, contact alumni@northwood.edu.

Communications

Sharing information with alumni is critical to our success. The following information sources are available to you:

  • The Northwood Idea magazine
  • Direct mail (for geographic-specific events)
  • Northwood website

To be added to any mailing list, e-mail alumni@northwood.edu.

Chapters

Chapters are a direct source of involvement for most alumni. For current chapters and activities, visit our Chapters page.

The Northwood Idea

We focus on education for a life of contribution in the private sector. We believe that is where the productive future exists. We specialize, in that we develop and build all our curriculums around the principles of the market economy. We incorporate a series of beliefs into our curriculums. And they serve to anchor us in order that the changing parts of what we do cannot lead us astray.
