Requirements

In order to receive an AA degree, students must complete the following:
  1. All courses on his/her AA curriculum guide
  2. A 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  3. A Graduation Application submitted to the Registrar's Office
  4. At least 44 credit hours through Northwood University
In order to receive a BBA degree, students must complete the following:
  1. An AA Degree*
  2. All courses on his/her BBA Curriculum Guide
  3. One major and two minors or two majors and one minor
  4. A 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  5. A Graduation Application submitted to the Registrar's Office
  6. Minimum of 180 credit hours with 44 hours through Northwood University

*Transfer students who come to Northwood under a specific articulation agreement or are transferring with 90 or more credit hours will be evaluated for graduation based upon individual degree completion plan.

Commencement participation is open to students who:
  • Have a 2.0 GPA or above; and
  • Will complete the degree requirements by the end of the Winter Term (for December) or by the end of summer (for May). Commencement activities vary based on campus. Information can be found below for specific campus information.
Honors

Only those students who have met both criteria for honors by March will be listed in the commencement program.
Criteria includes:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.50.
  • A minimum of 44 Northwood credits completed.
Honors scale:
  • Cum Laude 3.50 to 3.69
  • Magna Cum Laude 3.70 to 3.89
  • Summa Cum Laude 3.90 to 4.00

Graduation Applications

Returning students who wish to participate in the May Commencement ceremony must complete a graduation application and submit it to the Registrar’s Office during the spring term prior to the year in which they anticipate graduating. New students who wish to participate in the may Commencement ceremony must complete a graduation application and submit it to the Registrar’s Office during the fall term of the year in which they anticipate graduating.
