

David D. Long, D.M.D.
Provost - Michigan Campus
The Provost is the leader and chief operating officer of the Michigan campus and of other area activities of the University.
David Long has worked in higher education administration for over 20 years, coming to Northwood University in 1992 to coordinate and lead the student recruitment efforts of the University. He previously served as Vice President of Operations and Enrollment Management with oversight of operational, admissions, enrollment and retention functions. Prior to his career change in 1985, he was self-employed for 20 years in private practice in dentistry. His undergraduate work was done at Drake University and his Doctoral degree of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) was accomplished at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Long has served as an officer or trustee for various professional societies, church boards, athletic leagues, and fundraising campaigns. He has held leadership positions in a city council, Chamber of Commerce, college trustees, and school board presidency.
