Kavanagh comes to Northwood from Siena Heights University where, for the past five years, he was their vice president of advancement.

At Northwood, Kavanagh will be responsible for development, marketing and communications, public relations and alumni. Prior to his work at Siena Heights, he was with Hillsdale College as their executive director of Gift and Estate Planning and their regional director of advancement activities for the southwestern portion of the United States.

Kavanagh has a bachelor of arts degree from College of Holy Cross, a master of arts in Education Administration from the University of Michigan, and a juris doctor from the Detroit College of Law. He has been a public and private school teacher, an administrator and has practiced law.
