William Edwards built his business career in radio and television broadcasting. Starting as an announcer while still in high school, he continued in radio during his college days before accepting positions in Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana and California. He was a newscaster in Hollywood prior to entering the Navy during World War II, where he was Director of an Armed Forces Radio Service operation in the Southwest Pacific theater. Following the war, Edwards founded and served as President of Lake Huron Broadcasting Corporation, which owned and operated radio and television stations in Michigan, Texas and Florida. Retiring in 1987, he continues an active interest in the communications field.

"My association with Northwood University has been a truly rewarding experience for me in these retirement years. I am grateful for this opportunity to be a small part of this great center of learning."
