Terence F. Moore

Terence F. Moore has been President & CEO of MidMichigan Health in Midland for nearly 27 years. MidMichigan Health owns and operates three hospitals, two nursing homes, and eight other subsidiaries with more than 3,200 employees and an annual operating budget of approximately five hundred million dollars. The organization also has a one-third interest in Gratiot Health System based in Alma, Michigan.

Moore holds a master’s degree in Hospital Administration from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He also holds BS and MBA degrees from Central Michigan University where he has done additional graduate work in economics and was awarded an honorary doctorate of public service in 1990. He was a lieutenant and paratrooper in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He serves on the boards of the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, Chemical Financial Corporation, and the Michigan Molecular Institute. He has published 55 articles and co-authored, co-edited, or authored eight books.

He has been recognized by receiving peers as the outstanding health care executive in Michigan and received the Michigan Hospital Association’s highest award, the Meritorious Key Award, in 1992, and in 1991 the first-ever Rotary Vocation Award for improving the quality of life for others. In addition, he received the 1986 Regents Award as the Outstanding Healthcare Executive in the State of Michigan from the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Central Michigan University Centennial Award in 1993, and a Paul Harris Award from the Midland Rotary Club in 1995. He was named as a charter member to the Central Michigan University ROTC Hall of Fame and received the Toastmaster’s Outstanding Leadership Award in 1997. In 2001, Moore received an honorary doctorate from Northwood University. In 2002, he was inducted as a charter member into the Junior Achievement of Central Michigan Hall of Fame. Central Michigan University’s Master of Business Administration Outstanding Alumni Award was presented to him in 2003.

Moore and his wife, Carleen, a registered nurse who is retired from a career in critical care nursing at MidMichigan, reside in Midland.
