Maurice Malacarne borrowed $4,000 from his grandparents in 1979 to create the Malco Construction Corporation in Yonkers, New York. In ten years, his company grew to over $5 million in annual revenue and became a leading business in the New York Metro Area. Brother-in-law Anthony DeMicco took over the company in 1989 and it continues to operate today. In 1990, Malacarne started Sealco Systems Inc./T-Coast Pavers, a concrete paving company in Stuart, Florida which grew with great success. In late 1998, the company was sold to Thermacell Technologies Inc. of Daytona Beach. Malacarne acted as the firm's Chief Operating Officer until 2002.

Maurice Malacarne is originally from New York where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Prelaw and Criminal Justice at Mercy Roman Catholic College. He went on to work in the New York District Attorney's office as a detective investigator.

Dr. Malacarne is Past Grand Knight, Saint Christopher's Council, Knights of Columbus #10718. He serves on the National Committee of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club of Martin County, the Palm Beach Round Table, and Thermacell Technologies Inc. At Northwood, he is also an Athletic Advisory board member. In 1996, Maurice Malacarne received the Northwood University Arthur E. Turner Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award; and in May 2001, he received an honorary doctorate degree.

Maurice and his wife, Judy, live in Stuart, Florida.
