Faculty:

The student-faculty ratio is approximately 20:1. Ninety-seven percent of Northwood’s faculty has earned advanced degrees. Theory and practice come with professionals hired from business and industry.

Accreditation:

Northwood University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association (800.621.7440; higherlearningcommission.org).

Affiliation:

Private, nonsectarian, residential, coeducational, not-for-profit.

Founding:

Established in 1959 by Dr. Arthur E. Turner and Dr. R. Gary Stauffer to teach practical career skills and business principles, based on the free enterprise concept.

Library:

Member of Southeast Florida Library Information Network. Students have access to over 26,000 volumes of information.

Financial Aid:

Approximately 70% of Northwood's Florida students receive some form of financial aid. Assistance is available through Northwood scholarships and grants and federal assistance.

Admission:

A high school transcript, a 2.0 cumulative grade point average, ACT or SAT exam, and a serious interest in business management careers. See the Admissions page for complete information. Transfer Admission:

Students may enter Northwood at any point in their college career and transfer the maximum number of credit hours applicable to their program. Course grades must be a "C" average or better. A significant number of transfer scholarships are available for students with an associate's degree or equivalent and 2.7 GPA.
