Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP)
Certification Requirements

The Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) certification is awarded to those in the motor vehicle aftermarket who have demonstrated a dedication to the industry through ongoing professional development. Any job title or function at any type of aftermarket organization is eligible for the certification, as long as they meet the following requirements:

  • Completion of three years of professional experience in the motor vehicle aftermarket.
  • 12 Continuing Education Units* (CEUs) of University of the Aftermarket coursework and/or participation in approved association and/or aftermarket educational events.
  • Minimum 10-page applied project report using knowledge gained through University of the Aftermarket coursework. Note: Those who have completed either Leadership 2010 or Leadership 2.0 may have their team projects count toward this requirement.

* One CEU equals 10 hours of class time
