Get the Credit You Deserve!
Northwood University has long believed that learning does not take place exclusively in the classroom. A person's professional learning may be translated into college-level credit. This learning can be evaluated in terms of required and/or elective courses from specific degree programs. Northwood's process for evaluating a person's prior learning experience is similar to evaluation of coursework transferred from other colleges. The evaluator awards credit where appropriate, allowing the student to accelerate their degree completion.
A maximum of 30 semester hours of credit may be awarded through a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). Please note that a maximum of 15 semester hours of credit may be awarded for Texas ADP students. The PLA process must be initiated within a student’s first semester at Northwood University.
Your program center manager can provide more details on the PLA process and whether you're a good candidate for PLA credit.
Always feel free to contact your Program Center Staff for assistance and guidance.
